The timeline is converging. As we approach the 2026 threshold, sensitive NIA scanners have detected a massive spike in XM fluctuation, likely triggered by a global synchronization of human celebration and hope.
To harness this energy, the NIA is authorizing a 16-day tactical window. This is your opportunity to accelerate your clearance level and energize the Portal Network.
From December 19, 2025 at 18:00 UTC through January 5, 2026 at 18:00 UTC, the NIA will issue two specialized Campaigns via the Dispatch system:
- New Year 2026 Celebration: A standard operation accessible to all Agents.
- New Year 2026 Premier: A high-value operation available for 15,000 CMU. Agents who successfully complete this elite track will be awarded the exclusive New Year 2026 Medal.
Throughout the event window, the Portal Network will undergo the following temporary reconfigurations:
- Apex effects increase to 4× AP, doubling their usual impact.
- Portal cooldown periods reduce by 25%, resulting in a 135-second cooldown for friendly Portals and a 225-second cooldown for neutral or enemy Portals.
- Resonator deployment limits expand to allow up to two Level 7 and two Level 8 Resonators per Agent.
- All XMP Bursters fire with the destructive power of a Level 8 XMP Burster.
Please note that Ingress First Saturday January 3, 2026 falls inside this 16-day window, and Apex will continue to increase 4× AP during IFS.
