Something warm, familiar, and slightly unexpected is about to drift through the Portal Network. Ingress Toast Day returns soon, bringing a limited-time mix of Toast-themed experiments, rewards, and a few surprises that may even sneak their way into your Glyph hacking.
Key Developments in Toast History
- 1893: Alan MacMasters creates the first electric toaster, the Eclipse.
- 1912: Otto Rohwedder invents the first automatic bread-slicing machine for the Chillicothe Missouri Baking Company.
- 2014: Tiptree Bread Awards in the U.K. establishes the last Thursday in February as National Toast Day.

From 26 February (Thursday) at 18:00 UTC through 9 March (Monday) at 18:00 UTC, Toast takes center stage once again.
During the operation period, a temporary Kinetic Program will be available, letting you bake 8 L1 Resonators into 2 Toast Beacons. It’s a simple recipe—keep moving, keep charging, and watch your extra Resonators turn into something far more satisfying to deploy.
Toast Day also brings back familiar research threads from the past. For those of you who missed the previous research cycles in 2022, this is your chance to catch up. We’re opening an archival Premium Campaign titled “Toast Day Redux 2026.” For 15,000 CMU, you can work toward earning the Toast Day 2022 medal. Already have it? You won’t be left out—completing the Campaign will instead unlock a Recursion Wing on that medal.
The free “Toast Day 2026” Campaign dishes out generous amounts of Toast Beacons and can be replayed, making it easy to keep your inventory stocked throughout the operation.
Finally, keep a sharp eye on your glyph sequences. NIA Researchers suggest that the warmth in the XM Network may bake Toast Glyphs into your hacks, celebrating the lead up to National Toast Day on February 26. Even in a world of XM Anomalies, there’s always time for a balanced breakfast.
