A vector is a quantity that has a magnitude and a direction, like velocity, or a bullet train hurtling north at 320 kilometers per hour. Our Ingress team is lean, and like a rogue band of rebels we’ve been fighting to make our crew feel like a hundred. We’re using agentic tools to increase our velocity so we can continue running Ingress for the long-term.
In March, we moved Ingress to Cloud Spanner, which sped up most game actions and significantly reduced our operating costs. We then rewrote our backend to an in-memory system designed for use during Anomaly live events. We’re now working on new rewrites that should enable Ingress to continue for years to come.
We’re not finished; there’s a lot of work ahead. And that’s the nature of running Ingress as a 14-year-old real world game: we’ll complete this milestone, and then we’ll move on to the next one. We’ll keep pushing north 320 km/h.

This Year’s Anomaly Seasons
The +Gamma season closed the neural-oscillation investigation that began with +Alpha in 2025, and Orion and Apollo opened a new chapter. The Enlightened continued their long winning run with +Gamma and Orion. Then the Resistance broke through to claim Apollo, setting up a hard-fought battle for Cygnus.
The Cygnus season is underway, and we salute every Agent who fought through the two Shard Storm weekends in October. The final Shard Storm weekend arrives on 21 November, with the result still to be determined. With how narrow the margins can be each season, every Agent’s actions count towards securing victory for their Faction. This Year in the Scanner
New in the Scanner this year:
- Agent Profile Views: Medal Details now show the date you earned each medal and each tier. You can also toggle viewing your medals by date or by category.
- C.A.R.G.O.: Each boost costs 3,500 CMU and adds 100 inventory slots for 30 days. You can stack up to five, each on its own timer.
- Dispatch: Campaigns can now be collapsed into a compact view. Claimable Bounties now appear at the top, and expired Campaigns move to the bottom.
- Portal Keys: A compact Key list shows more Keys at once. Sort Keys by Faction, Name, or Distance.
- Bounty Pass: 1-, 3- and 7-day passes add 4 extra Daily Bounties per day.
- Codename Token and Faction Token: Agents at Level 4 and above can change their codename or Faction for 15,000 CMU each, with a 90-day cooldown. Level, AP and inventory stay the same.
The Vector Medal
The Vector Year 14 Medal will be awarded to all Agents who have earned more than 0 AP via in-app action from the start of the Year 13 Celebration (14 November 2025, 17:00 UTC) to the end of the Year 14 Celebration (23 November 2026, 18:00 UTC).
Medals will be distributed after the bonus period ends, with tiers as follows:
- Bronze: Level 3
- Silver: Level 9
- Gold: Level 13
- Platinum: Level 15
- Onyx: Level 16
Recursed Agents will receive Onyx Medals.
The Celebrations
The celebration runs from Friday, 13 November 2026, at 18:00 UTC to Monday, 23 November 2026, at 18:00 UTC, with these bonuses:
- 2X AP for all actions.
- 2X hack output of building gear (Resonators, Power Cubes) from friendly Portals.
- 2X hack output of attack gear (XMP, Ultra Strike) from enemy Portals.
- Drone cooldown reduced to 14 mins.
- Kinetic Capsule Program distance reduced from 8 km to 4 km.
- Up to 14 Kinetic Capsule Programs can be activated in parallel.
- 2X L8 Resonator deployment.
- Experimental Weapon Tunings.
A free Year 14 - Vector Campaign is also in Dispatch, celebrating 14 years of movement among the Portals.
During the celebration, two NIA Archive medals return to the In-App Store at 30,800 CMU each: Oliver Lynton-Wolfe 2018 and P.A. Chapeau 2018.
