NIA researchers have observed heightened XM sensitivity across global Portal networks connected to the Cygnus alignment. Researchers hypothesize that contesting Battle Beacons creates localized resonance fields required to capture vital network telemetry. To stabilize the grid and secure overall Season influence, Ground Operations has issued a global directive. Factions are called to organize field operations and systematically engage in Battle Beacon combat throughout the operational window.
What
Cygnus Global Battles is a coordinated tactical operation focused on Faction-vs-Faction Battle Beacon combat. Every contested Battle Beacon feeds regional Faction dominance and global Season standing. Scanner telemetry will evaluate individual performance, award operational rewards, and track Faction momentum across the operation.
Participation is open to every Agent. A Battle Beacon must be deployed by an Agent who meets the AP requirement, but once one is active, any Agent within range of that Portal may join the battle.

The operation window opens 1 October 2026 at 18:00 UTC and concludes 28 October 2026 at 18:00 UTC.
Procedure
Your Scanner will track your operational metrics as a Battle Beacon Combatant. Advance your metrics by deploying or fighting in active Battle Beacons at any Portal, coordinating with your squad to secure Checkpoints and maximize point control during each battle.
Offensive and defensive Portal actions taken during an active battle are counted as interactions. These include deploying or upgrading Resonators, attacking or destroying Resonators, destroying Portal Mods, destroying Links, and recharging Resonators.

Individual Rewards
The free Campaign “Cygnus: Global Battles” will appear within the Dispatch interface, available to all Agents. In Stage 1:
- Assignment 1 (Bronze Tier): Complete 5 total Battle Beacon Combatant interactions to authorize the Bronze Cygnus Global Battles Medal, earning 1,000 Cygnus Tokens and 6 Rare Battle Beacons.
- Assignment 2 (Silver Tier): Complete 50 total Battle Beacon Combatant interactions to authorize the Silver Cygnus Global Battles Medal, earning 2,500 Cygnus Tokens and 11 Rare Battle Beacons.
- Assignment 3 (Gold Tier): Complete 200 total Battle Beacon Combatant interactions to authorize the Gold Cygnus Global Battles Medal, earning 4,500 Cygnus Tokens and 17 Rare Battle Beacons.
Top-Tier CAT-VI Rewards
During the operation window, intelligence observers will track high-intensity CAT-VI Beacon Battles across all regions. Following the conclusion of the operation, the NIA will publish a global leaderboard ranking the top 100 CAT-VI participants, with bonus Cygnus Tokens awarded to these top-performing Agents. Only Agents who have claimed at least one Bounty in the “Cygnus: Global Battles” Campaign are eligible to enter this leaderboard.
Agents who complete Stage 1 may choose to Restart the Campaign into Stage 2. Stage 2 awards item support only, and does not award Cygnus Tokens or medal progression.
Faction Score
2,000 Season Points will be distributed according to the aggregate number of Battle Beacon Point Values claimed by each Faction. Points are awarded at each Checkpoint to the Faction holding the Target Portal.
Battle category will NOT be taken into the calculation. All proportional allocations will be rounded to one decimal place. Official results will be publicly announced within one week following the conclusion of the Operation via a dedicated Season Score update published on ingress.com/news.
Rare and Very Rare Battle Beacons are available for purchase in the In-App Store by Agents who meet the AP requirements for each. During the operation window, monitor official social channels for encrypted Passcodes and cipher challenges yielding free Rare Battle Beacons.
Agents documenting their field operations are encouraged to share field tactics and publish Sitreps on social media using #CygnusGlobalBattles and #IngressSitrep.
